One of the best! Also gave me a sort of anxiety. Followed by the voice of my inner deceased older brother bonging and noodling on his guitar: "Listen man, either chill out or go back to retweeting Posobiec."

I’m late with this comment, but it would have been interesting to discuss Anzari/Babe.com (Jan 2018) as part of this discourse

When I heard you describe the plot of bad boy, I was like "everyday we stray from the light of God."

This is the best episode yet, really interesting conversation. But my suspicion is you will never separate "objectification" from society because it's an intrinsic part of being desirable. Not just for women either, I say as a straight guy who has fantasized about being forced to jerk off in front of the fairly unlikely all-female audience ever since my teenage years, just like in the short story you discussed(no forced homicide, though). I might even go so far as to argue patriarchal oppression is partially founded on men fearing becoming an object in a different sense.

Specifically, being so enthralled by a woman that he's completely controlled by her, whether like a zombie or a "paypig" or whatever term you want to use. Which is why most patriarchal societies are terrified of female sexuality. The way patriarchal societies try to oppress women always seem deeply rooted in a fear of being manipulated by them. Which isn't a good thing and is really quite pathetic, but I think it's worth noting when objectification and the relation it has to patriarchy is being discussed. People have complicated feelings about being vulnerable around anyone that could have power over them, but especially the people who belong to populations to whom they're sexually attracted.
